It all began with the arrival of 45 bare-root plum, quince and elderberry trees. Oh sure, the persnickety among us might say it began when I ordered the trees, but that’s just silly!
Oh yeah, and then there were the Matilija poppies and Pride of Madera that I got at that one nursery, and those two olive trees five Cape Honeysuckle from Home Despot.
Yeesh! Life would be sweeter if HD still carried aged mushroom compost, or Sunland compost. How can we properly get the garden on with no compost? But wait, that’s right–I can fill my own compost bags at the at the landfill…
