Phytoremediation Project – Part 1
The west slope has been a theoretical and practical problem since we moved in. First, because of the huge, never-pruned or thinned 40-year cypress in the northwest corner, the slope is dark quite early (around 5pm in summer) and second, due to the 40 year accumulation of ash and a whole bunch of clumping kitty litter.

Plan for today: mulch established beds with 2011 grow bag garden compost; move sun-lovers from prop area to south-center bed to grow on; lift and divide mediterraneans from east food garden bed edge; create east food garden framework (weed cloth and grow bags); Now, to see if the dream is to be realized… today.
